(I still have my pair of Nikon D100 bodies somewhere). New in Adobe Camera Raw version 13.2, which was released March 10th, 2021 is a feature called 'Super Resolution.' This new feature doubles the linear dimensions of your image file while. Sometimes, however, we do still need to scale things up. With the resolution of cameras today, upscaling images isn’t as in demand as it once was. And the samples on the Adobe blog between standard bicubic upsizing and Super Resolution are pretty impressive! The trick is forcing ACR (not ACR as a filter) to open them as if they were raw. After a bit of AI number crunching, it spits out an enhanced DNG file and you’re done. Super Resolution can be used on JPEGs, TIFFs etc. In the preview box, check Super Resolution and hit Enhance again. The Super Resolution feature is easy to use by right clicking on the image window in Adobe Camera Raw and choosing Enhance. Note, you cant access this Enhance command for. Of course, if you start using it on really highly compressed jpegs, your final results probably won’t be that great. I edit prores 1080p, get edit lock then conform original camera files into resolve, grade and export prores 4444 at original resolution, conform into flame onto UHD timeline, send shots to nuke, back into flame, add supers and send prores hq masters at UHD and 1080 and a whole lot of vertical and 4x5 etc for net delivery. ![]() But it will also work with just about any other format the Adobe Camera Raw supports. You can do this as a one-time thing or set your preferences to always. ![]() Note: You can also right-click (Windows) or Control-click (macOS) image files to copy and paste using the context menu. Select one or more files and choose Edit > Develop Settings > Paste Camera Raw Settings. Naturally, the best possible starting files for Super Resolution resizing are raw files, straight from your camera. To access Super Resolution, you need to open your files inside the Camera Raw dialog box. In Adobe Bridge, select a file and choose Edit > Develop Settings > Copy Camera Raw Settings.
